The Dingwall born hooker made his Scotland debut against Wales in a August 2003 World Cup warm up game. Despite playing in a 2003 Rugby World Cup game, he failed to make an appearance during the tournament and had to wait until the 2011 Rugby World Cup game against Argentina to make his World Cup debut. Initially part of Glasgow Warriors underage squads, he missed the entirety of the 2001-2002 season through a broken leg, and, after he regained fitness, he signed for Edinburgh at the beginning of the 2002-2003 season. Hall spent five years at Glasgow, becoming Scotland’s number one hooker before, in 2007, he rejoined the Glasgow Warriors. Hall, to compliment his thirty nine full Scotland caps, also has U-19 and U-21 Scotland caps to his name.
