Lloyd was a member of the New Zealand Under-20 team that competed in the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship in South Africa. He was forced to take 2 years off from the field to recover from injury problems during the early stages of his career. Lloyd currently plays for the Hurricanes in the Super Rugby.
