Chris Vui, born on February 11, 1993, is a New Zealand-born Samoan rugby union player known for his versatility as a loose forward. He currently represents the Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership and also plays for the Samoa national team.

Vui's rugby career has seen him excel in both the second row and back row positions. He showcased his talent at a young age when he represented New Zealand Under 20 in the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship held in France.

In the 2015 Super Rugby season, Vui made two appearances for the Auckland-based franchise, the Blues. His skills on the field caught the attention of Worcester Warriors, where he played before making a move to Bristol for the 2017/18 season.

During the 2016 November internationals, Vui earned his first cap for Samoa, marking the beginning of his international career. In 2017, he achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the youngest captain in World Rugby, leading the Samoan national team. Prior to his international debut, Vui captained the North Harbour team from New Zealand to the Mitre 10 Championship title.

Vui's abilities as a lock forward or back row player have earned him recognition in various competitions. His standout performances for Worcester Warriors led to his inclusion in the Championship team of the season, further solidifying his reputation as an exceptional player.

In December 2018, Bristol Bears secured the re-signing of Vui, fending off interest from some of Europe's top clubs. The second rower committed to the Bears until 2022, demonstrating his importance to the team.

With 12 test caps to his name, Vui was selected for the Samoa squad for the 2019 Pacific Nations Cup, further establishing himself as a key member of the national team. His athleticism, skills, and leadership qualities continue to contribute to his success on the field.

Ahead of the World Rugby Cup 2023, Vui has been named in the squad for Samoa.
