Stefan Ungerer (born 23 November 1993) is a South African rugby union player who primarily plays as a scrum-half. He has represented various teams throughout his career, including the Sharks, Southern Kings, and South Africa Under-20 side.
Ungerer began his rugby journey at a young age, representing the Sharks in various youth tournaments at the Under-13, Under-16, Under-19, and Under-21 levels. His performances at these levels caught the attention of the Sharks coaching staff, leading to his inclusion in the Vodacom Cup squad in 2013.
In 2013, Ungerer made his provincial debut for the Sharks in the Vodacom Cup, making an immediate impact in their convincing 72-6 victory over the Border Bulldogs. His debut marked the beginning of his professional career at the provincial level.
Ungerer's talent and potential were further recognized when he was selected for the South Africa Under-20 training group that toured Argentina in preparation for the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship. Subsequently, he was included in the squad for the championship, where he had the opportunity to showcase his skills on the international stage.
After his time with the Sharks, Ungerer joined the Southern Kings, where he continued to ply his trade in professional rugby. His signing with the Southern Kings allowed him to contribute to the team's efforts in the Pro14 competition, further developing his skills and gaining valuable experience.
