The Tonga-born flanker or number eight won 17 Test caps for the All Blacks between 2005 and 2008.
He also played for Auckland and Waikato in the national provincial championships and the Chiefs in Super Rugby.
In February 2017, Lauaki, who also played for Super Rugby club Chiefs as well as French sides Bayonne and Clermont, passed away after suffering from heart and kidney problems.
