Samuel Slade, born on August 28, 1997, is a rugby union player from New Zealand who represents Samoa at the international level. He primarily plays as a flanker. Slade is a member of the Counties Manukau squad in New Zealand's Mitre 10 Cup competition, having joined the team in 2019. He has also signed with Moana Pasifika for the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Slade made his provincial debut for Auckland in 2017, playing six games. He also represented the New Zealand Under 20's team during that time. In 2018, he went on loan to Manawatu and played eight games for the province. In 2019, Slade returned to the northern region and joined Counties Manukau, where he has since made 16 appearances for the union.
In 2019, Slade was recruited to play for the Colorado Raptors in the United States for the 2020 season. However, it is unclear whether he actually played for the team due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the rugby calendar.
In 2021, Slade was selected to represent the Samoan national team. He played in two test matches against the Maori All Blacks and two matches against Tonga, which were crucial for Samoa's qualification for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Ahead of the World Rugby Cup 2023, Slade has been named in the squad for Samoa.
