Beard, who qualifies to play for Wales, made 44 appearances for Edinburgh since joining from New Zealand side Bay of Plenty in 2013 and scored two tries.
In February 2016, he signed to play for the Dragons on a two-year deal.
Beard made over 20 appearances for the Dragons during his time with the club before heading back to New Zealand to join Canterbury.
