Perceli Yato, born on January 17, 1993, is a Fijian rugby union player who currently plays as a flanker for Clermont in the Top 14.
Yato hails from Sigatoka, a town known for rugby in Fiji. He attended Waicoba District School and later completed his secondary education at Sigatoka Valley High School and Sigatoka Mission College.
In 2013, he represented Fiji at the IRB Junior World Championship, showcasing his talent and catching the attention of French club ASM Clermont Auvergne, who signed him as an espoir (young player).
Yato made his Top 14 debut for Clermont as a substitute against Bayonne RC in January 2014. During the 2014-15 Top 14 season, he played 10 matches for Clermont and scored 7 tries, including 2 against Stade Français, who eventually won the competition that season.
Known for his versatility and power, Yato primarily plays as an openside flanker but has also featured at number 8 and even in the backline at center throughout his career.
He made his international debut for Fiji in 2015 against Tonga and represented his country in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England and the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Yato has been a regular player for Clermont, reaching a significant milestone in the 2020-21 season by playing his 100th Top 14 game for the club.
He has also appeared in over 20 European matches for Clermont. During his time with the club, he won the Top 14 title in 2017 and the Challenge Cup in 2019.
Additionally, he has been part of the Clermont teams that finished as runners-up in the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup on two occasions since his arrival.
