Maxime Lucu is a wiley character around the base of the rucks and scrums. His defensive capability make him an asset to his current team in the Pro D2, Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque. His kicking ability further enable him to contribute to the team and the score board.
In February 2021 Lucu was called to the French Senior team to play in the 2021 Six Nations.
Lucu also plays in the Top 14 as a scrum half for Bordeaux Bégles. To date Lucu has won 13 test caps for France.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Lucu has been named in the training squad for France.
