Match Facts
England have won nine of their last 11 Guinness Men’s Six Nations encounters with Wales, including the last three in a row, seven of those nine victories have come by single digit margins however.
Wales have lost each of their last 16 Test matches, their longest ever run, and the longest losing streak by any Tier 1 nation in the professional era (also Italy from 2019-2021); their last three defeats have all come by fewer than 10 points, though, this after their previous three had come by margins of over 30 points.
Wales are on an eight game losing streak at the Principality Stadium in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, that is as many defeats as they’d suffered in their preceding 37 matches at the Cardiff venue combined (W29).
England are on a three game losing streak away from home in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, they’ve not endured a longer losing run on the road in the Championship since 2006-2007 (L4).
England have won each of their last three Guinness Men’s Six Nations matches, their longest run under Steve Borthwick and stand a chance at winning the title should other results go their way; England haven’t scored 4+ tries away to Wales in the Championship since their very first clash at the Principality Stadium in 2001 (44-15).
England have the highest dominant carry (39%), tackle evasion (27%) and gainline success (65%) rates of any side in the 2025 Guinness Men’s Six Nations and have recorded the most metres per carry of any nation in this year’s Championship (6.6), with Wales the only side averaging fewer than six metres per carry (5.9); Wales have gained the most metres-in-contact of any team this year, however (773).
Wales have won possession from 14% of opposition lineouts in the Championship this year (8/59), with four of those coming from lineout steals - twice as many as any other nation; Wales have a 95% success rate on their own throw, second only to France (98%), while England have the best scrum success rate in the Championship in 2025 (96%).
England's Maro Itoje has made 46 tackles in this year's Championship, the most of any England player and became the fifth player to reach 500 tackles in the Guinness Men's Six Nations, alongside Alun Wyn Jones (752), Taulupe Faletau (596), Jonny Gray (592) and Sergio Parisse (540); Itoje also needs just two turnovers to surpass Brian O'Driscoll's record of 53 in the Championship (currently on 52).
Wales’ Jac Morgan has made the most tackles of any player in the Guinness Men's Six Nations this year (73) and 12 more would see him set a record for Wales in an edition of the Championship, surpassing Justin Tipuric's tally of 84 in 2017; Morgan has also gained the most metres-in-contact of any player this year (89) just ahead of England's Ben Earl (88).
Tommy Freeman has scored a try in each of his four games for England in this year’s Guinness Men’s Six Nations, only once before has a player scored in all five rounds of a campaign – France’s Philippe Bernat-Salles in 2001.
