Marius Simionescu was born and raised in Erbiceni, Romania
Before joining Timișoara Saracens' youth team, Simionescu played for CSS Unirea Iași.
In 2014, he made his professional debut for professional SuperLiga club, Timișoara Saracens
Simionescu made his international debut at the 2017 mid-year rugby union internationals in a match against Canada.
In 2020, he joined Dinamo Bucuresti for one year before signing for Romanian Wolves in the Europe Super Cup.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Simionescu has been named in the squad for Romania.
