A classic inside centre, Engelbrecht got his first taste of senior rugby for the Leopards in the 2010 Currie Cup. Joubert then spent another three seasons with the province until he signed for the Cheetahs in 2013 and turned out for the Bloemfontein team in the Vodacom and Currie Cup.
