Hailing from the Sheffield area of England, Clarke plies his trade as an outside centre and has occasionally featured in the fullback slot. His career began in 2003 at the Northampton Saints academy and was named young player of the year just 12 months later. After appearing over 100 times for the Saints, Clarke left Franklin's Gardens to link up with fellow premiership side Worcester Warriors.
