Originally from Windsor in Berkshire, Haskell has travelled much of the globe plying his trade. After spells in France, Japan and New Zealand, he returned to the Wasps in 2012 and in the 2015/2016 season he extended his contract.
To date he has made 160 appearances for the Coventry-based team. The hugely physical backrower first appeared in the white of England in 2007 and since returning from Japan and New Zealand has re-established himself in the English set-up. The Wasps back row was included in the 2015 RWC squad appearing in two games.
England flanker Haskell admits he doubted whether he would ever return from the foot injury which kept him out of action for six months. Haskell had been nursing a long-standing problem with his toe before it finally gave way completely late on in the second Test in Australia in June 2016.
Haskell old was a key part of England's Grand Slam and unbeaten tour of Australia in 2016, but having missed the autumn internationals, he faces a battle to wrestle back the open-side flanker shirt from Tom Wood, who was singled out for praise this week by England boss Eddie Jones. Haskell was named in the England squad for the 2017 6 Nations, where he played a big part in retaining the 6 Nations title.
With 75 England caps to his name, Haskell was named in Eddie Jones' squad for a two-test tour of Argentina in June.
However after Billy Vunipola was ruled out of the British and Irish Lions tour through injury, Haskell was called into the squad as a replacement.
In January 2018, Wasps confirmed that Haskell will leave the club at the end of the season when his current deal expires.
Haskell made over 200 appearances in a 12-year career at Wasps, splitting two spells at the club with stints across the globe at Stade Français, Ricoh Black Rams, and the Highlanders – playing on almost every stage world rugby has to offer.
In May 2018, the 77 Test cap International Haskell signed with Northampton Saints for the 2018/19 season.
After an injury-plagued campaign with Saints and struggling with recurring ankle and toe problems, Haskell announced that he would retire from professional rugby.
At the end of August 2019 Haskell took up MMA Fighting and signed a pro deal to fight in the heavy weight division
