Coetzee's rugby journey began as a young loose forward, representing SA Schools. He made his Super Rugby debut during the 2017 season against the Southern Kings. In the same year, he was named in the Western Province Currie Cup squad.
After helping Western Province to Currie Cup glory, Coetzee secured a spot in the Stormers' 2018 Super Rugby squad. Now, he continues his rugby career with Bath Rugby, aiming to make a lasting impact and achieve success with the club.
