Schooled at Worcester Gymnasium, Kloppers talent was noted at an early age where he represented the Boland at U18 level. A move to Stellenbosch in 2007 saw the lock running out Western Province U19 & U21s before getting his first senior cap in 2010. Outstanding performances for Stellenbosch in the Varsity Cup saw the lineout expert being picked up by the Lions in 2013 where he made his Currie Cup debut.
He spent the 2013 and 2014 season with the Lions before he signed with the Griquas for the 2014 season.
He left the Griquas in 2015 and signed a deal with the Pumas.
