Harold William Vorster, born on 11 October 1993 in Phalaborwa, is a South African rugby union player. He primarily plays as a centre and currently represents the Bulls and the Blue Bulls in the United Rugby Championship and the Currie Cup.
Vorster has been associated with the Lions union since his Under-19 days and has progressed steadily through the ranks in Johannesburg. He is a versatile backline player known for his well-rounded skills. In 2013, he was included in the South African Under-20 training squad, highlighting his potential and talent.
His opportunity to shine came when he received an extended run in the Lions' starting lineup due to an injury to Rohan Janse van Rensburg. Vorster's performances caught the attention of selectors, and he earned a call-up to the South Africa A squad for a match against the French Barbarians.
By the start of the 2018 Super Rugby season, Vorster had already amassed 34 Super Rugby caps since making his debut in 2015 against the Sharks. His consistent performances and hard-running style earned him recognition both domestically and internationally.
In 2018, Vorster embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan. His time in Japan allowed him to further develop his skills and experience a different rugby environment.
Known for his no-nonsense approach on the field, Vorster combines blistering pace with explosive strength, making him a formidable presence in the midfield. His physicality and attacking prowess make him a valuable asset to any team.
In May 2021, Vorster signed a contract with the Bulls, returning to South Africa to join the team. With his skill set and experience, he adds depth and quality to the Bulls' backline, contributing to their ambitions in the United Rugby Championship and Currie Cup competitions.
