A solid scrummager Brighouse represented New Zealand U20s in 2013 and has since been plying his trade with Otago in the Mitre 10 Cup.
Brighouse had a standout season for Otago during the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup and earned a call up to the Manu Samoa for the November Internationals.
He was called into the Crusaders Super Rugby squad in 2018 as injury cover and went on to make 5 appearances for the Christchurch-based franchise.
He signed for Taranaki in 2019 and heads into the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup season with 9 caps.
