Dan Leavy

23rd May 1994 1.91m/105kg Openside Flanker

Leavy has established himself as a prominent back rower in the Leinster squad.

With a reputation at school's level as both a physical & attacking flanker, Leavy graduated from St Michael's College secondary school and progressed in to the Leinster set up, alongside fellow class mates Luke McGrath & Cathal Marsh.

With Leinster & Irish U18 & U20 Caps the elusive flanker eased into the Leinster A side and was drafted into the Pro12 squad for the 2015 season.

Leavy began the 16/17 season in strong fashion, showing his explosive ball-carrying abilities and tireless work rate.

He was called into the extended Ireland squad for the November Internationals and made his international debut off the bench against Canada. Following a rich vein of form for Leinster, Leavy was included in the Ireland squad for the opening two rounds of the 2017 6 Nations.

In April 2017, Leinster Rugby confirmed that he had signed a new contract at the club, the deal saw the back-rower remain at the club for the 2017/18 season and beyond.

As of November 2019, he has made 63 appearances for Leinster and has scored 70 points.

He went into the 2019 Champions Cup with 16 appearances in the tournament and has scored 15 points.

Leavy missed all of Ireland’s 2019 Six Nations campaign due to a horror knee injury.

He made his return in 2020 with a Champions Cup clash against Zebre following 18 months on the sidelines.

Leavy played seven times for Leinster in the 2022 season and last appeared against Ulster Rugby in March before announcing his retirement from the game.

He has played 79 times in total for Leinster Rugby scoring 17 tries.
