Connor was born in Brisbane in 1988.

He was scouted by the Queensland Reds while still in school and represented the franchise in Super Rugby in 2009 and 2010 before making a move to France to turn out for the Bordeaux-Begles where he stayed for a further 10 years before retiring from the game in June 2020.

Connor, who was 31 at the time of retirement, highlighted the physical toll of the training on his body and his love for surfing as the reasons he and rugby parted ways.

In all, Connor notched up 214 caps for Bordeaux-Begles and 7 for the Reds.
