Carroll played on loan for Thames Valley in 2017 before selection to the Bay of Plenty Steamers in 2018 where earned 21 caps, by the end of the 2019 season, after just two seasons and was part of the side’s senior leadership group. He was voted the Chiefs Development team player of the year.
In November 2019, the Mount Maunganui lock was added to the Blues roster for the 2020 Super Rugby competition coming in for fellow Bay of Plenty lock Baden Wardlaw who withdrew on medical grounds.
Aaron Carroll is the new breed of tight forward, which size and physicality in the tight but with excellent speed and mobility in the loose.
