Scotland | Hiddleston and Stephen named for Nations Championship
- 244
Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named a 36-player squad for the upcoming Nations Championship fixtures against Argentina, South Africa and Fiji. There are two uncapped players selected in the shape of Glasgow Warriors hookers Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen.
Scott Cummings and Pierre Schoeman are both one appearance away from their 50th caps, while Rory Sutherland sits on 48 and could also achieve that milestone this summer.
Scotland’s all-time highest scoring men’s forward Ewan Ashman joins Hiddleston and Stephen as the hooker selections.
Glasgow Warriors prop trio Zander Fagerson, Nathan McBeth and Rory Sutherland are all chosen, alongside Edinburgh Rugby’s Schoeman and D’arcy Rae. Will Hurd and Elliot Millar Mills complete the prop picks.
There are four Warriors second rows in the squad in the form of Gregor Brown, Scott Cummings, Alex Samuel and Max Williamson, and they are joined by Perpignan’s Jonny Gray.

Edinburgh youngsters Freddy Douglas and Liam McConnell, alongside their club captain Magnus Bradbury, are picked as back rowers, with departing Warrior Jack Dempsey and clubmates Matt Fagerson and Rory Darge, as well as Bath’s Josh Bayliss, all chosen as loose forwards.
Glasgow pair Jamie Dobie and George Horne, with Ben White, are the scrum-halves, and Finn Russell, Fergus Burke and Tom Jordan are the stand-offs.
Sione Tuipulotu captains the squad once more and is selected among the centres, alongside fellow Warrior Stafford McDowall and Rory Hutchinson.
Fresh from a week with GB7s, Darcy Graham is selected alongside back-three operators Duhan van der Merwe, Ollie Smith, Kyle Rowe and Kyle Steyn.

Duhan van der Merwe, D’arcy Rae and Liam McConnell will all be involved with the Barbarians before joining the Scotland squad. The Barbarians take on South Africa in Gqeberha on Saturday 20 June and take on Wales in Cardiff on 27 June.
