Blues Squad Locked for Highlanders Clash

The Blues receive a major boost for their Round 10 Super Rugby Pacific match against the Highlanders at Eden Park this Friday night with the return of captain Patrick Tuipulotu, who will make his first appearance of the 2026 season after shoulder surgery. He is joined by Dalton Papali’i and Hoskins Sotutu, who both return from injury to start.

Head coach Vern Cotter highlighted the leadership and experience their return brings at a crucial stage of the season. Mason Tupaea moves into the starting front row due to Ofa Tu’ungafasi’s unavailability, while Codemeru Vai replaces the injured Caleb Clarke on the wing.

Prop Ben Ake could make his debut off the bench, while Beauden Barrett and Zarn Sullivan are set to play their 50th games for the Blues. Finlay Christie will also reach the milestone of 100 combined Super Rugby appearances. Fans can look forward to halftime and post-match performances by Kiwi band Drax Project.
