Ulster team named for Glasgow Warriors fixture at Affidea Stadium
- 326
Ulster Rugby Head Coach, Richie Murphy, has named his matchday squad ahead of tomorrow’s BKT United Rugby Championship Round 18 clash against Glasgow Warriors at Affidea Stadium. (KO: 7.45PM)
Two Academy players, Bryn Ward and Wilhelm De Klerk start, while there is a return to the squad for Ulster’s record appearance holding hooker, Rob Herring, after his recent calf injury and James Hume following his neck injury.
Sam Crean starts at loosehead prop, with Herring joined by Tom O’Toole at tighthead prop. O’Toole missed out on last week’s Stormers draw due to illness.
Harry Sheridan and Charlie Irvine start in the second-row engine room.
In the back row, Development forward, Joe Hopes, starts at blindside flanker, Nick Timoney retains his position at openside flanker and captains the team. Academy forward, Bryn Ward, starts at number eight.
Scrum-half, Conor McKee, and fly-half Jake Flannery are the half backs.
In the midfield, Wilhelm De Klerk starts at inside centre, joining James Hume at outside centre.
The in-form back three remains unchanged from last week, with Zac Ward starting on the left wing, with Werner Kok on the right wing. Michael Lowry starts at full-back. All three were on the scoresheet against the Stormers.
Murphy names a 5:3 split among the replacements, with Tom Stewart, Angus Bell, Scott Wilson, Cormac Izuchukwu and Lorcan McLoughlin the forward cover options.
Nathan Doak, Jack Murphy and Ethan McIlroy are the backline replacements.
