Bath dominate Munster at the Rec
- 126
Bath saw out a dominant first-half display to sink Munster Rugby in Round 1.
Johann van Graan’s new men expertly defended throughout the second period to prevent his old side ever threatening the lead.
It was scoreless for much of the second 40 as Munster tentatively asked questions of the Bath defence. But nothing appeared to be opening up for the Irish side though, and the introduction of Bath’s ‘bomb squad’ confirmed the hosts’ defensive prowess.
The second-half scoring drought was finally broken though in minute 78 when Bath put the exclamation mark on the win. Captain Ben Spencer’s intelligently lobbed assist for that one confirmed a perfect all-round performance for the scrum-half.
A real expert performance from Johann van Graan’s men who never looked like getting out of second gear in the second half.
