Shalva Mamukashvili, born on October 2, 1990, is a professional rugby union player from Georgia. He plays as a hooker for The Black Lion in the Super Cup club competition and represents the Georgia national team.

Mamukashvili's career began with Armia in the Georgia Championship, where he showcased his talent as a front-row player. He earned his place in Georgia's 2012 European Nations Cup squad, making his international debut against Spain.

His performances caught the attention of the national team selectors, and he was included in Georgia's end-of-year tour campaign in 2012.

In August 2014, Mamukashvili signed a contract to join Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership in England, commencing from the 2014-15 season. He made his mark in English rugby and gained valuable experience playing in one of the top leagues.

Following his stint with Sale Sharks, Mamukashvili joined Glasgow Warriors in November 2015, signing a contract until the end of the 2015-16 season. He continued to impress with his hard work, physicality, and skill in the front row.

In 2020, Mamukashvili returned to England and joined Leicester Tigers for the 2020-21 season. However, in February 2021, Leicester Tigers announced that they had reached an agreement to release Mamukashvili from his contract early.

Mamukashvili is known for his uncompromising style of play, particularly in the front row. He is highly regarded for his scrummaging ability, lineout skills, and work rate, which are traits commonly associated with Georgian front-row players.

Throughout his career, Mamukashvili has represented Georgia at the highest level, including featuring in all four of Georgia's Rugby World Cup pool matches in 2015. He has played for clubs such as l'Armia Tbilissi, Montpellier, Toulon, Carcassonne, Locomotive, and Enisei-STM.

With a high test cap tally, Mamukashvili has made a significant impact on the international stage and continues to contribute to Georgian rugby with his skills and experience.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Mamukashvili has been named in the squad for Georgia.
