Thibaud Flament

29th Apr 1997 2.03m/116kg Blindside Flanker

Thibaud Flament has had an incredibly interesting route to the pinnacle of European Rugby.

Flament moved back to France in 2020 after a stint with Wasps in the Premiership marking the end of a five-year journey in England.

He played at flyhalf for Loughborough University, starting out in the fifth team before winning the Champions Cup in his first season with Toulouse.

Standing 6’8” tall, Flament moved to Argentina in his third year at Loughborough playing for Club Newman in Buenos Aires - the same team that Felipe Contepomi began and ended his career at.

Upon his return, he became a first-team regular with Loughborough. He quickly became a dominant force in the Loughborough pack before joining the Wasps’ Senior Academy for the 2019/20 season. The Frenchman featured in Wasps A’s final Premiership Rugby Shield game of 2018/19.

He quickly made a name for himself at the Club, shining in Wasps' 2019 Premiership 7s campaign, as he scored two tries in the Club's route to a sixth successive Premiership 7s final. Just a week later, he was handed a first-team debut against Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Cup, and he grabbed his opportunity with both hands, crashing over for a try in front of the Ricoh Arena crowd.

Flament shone in his sole season with Wasps which drew the attention of Toulouse who wrapped up his services ahead of the 2020/21 season. He played 12 times for Toulouse in his debut season featuring at lock and on the side of the scrum helping the side to the Top 14 and Champions Cup double in 2020/21.

In the 2022/23 season, Flament has played 9 games for Stade Toulousain , scoring 10 points and played 5 matches for the European Rugby Champions Cup, scoring 10 points.
