A big unit that gets around the park, Sam Ulufonua was named in the wider NZ U20s squad ahead of the U20 World Cup but failed to make the final cut.
The 130kg lock was named in Auckland's squad ahead of the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup.
Ulufonua made the move to Hawke's Bay for the 2018 edition of the competition.
