Where it went wrong for Sale Sharks

Leinster beat Sale Sharks 43-13 in the 3rd Champions Cup quarter-final. It was no smooth sailing for the home side as Sale were trailing 12-6 in the 49th minute. In the 53rd minute, Ryan Baird crossed for the first of 4 tries in the last 30 minutes.

Lets take a look at three areas the game were lost for Sale Sharks.

Lineouts. The visitors only managed to win 14/21 (67%) of their lineouts.

Managing the kicking game. Sale struggled to handle the kicks of Leinster

Defence in the outside channels. Leinster made too much meters down the 15m channels with Ryan Baird and Rieko Ioane scoring after a break down the left channel.
