Priestland signs for Bath
It has been finally confirmed that Rhys Priestland will be leaving the Scarlets next season and join Aviva Premiership side Bath. The rumours have been circulating over the past few days that a move could happen with Bath finally confirming that the Welsh International will be joining them for the start of next season. Since making his debut for the Scarlets back in 2007 the flyhalf will now face a new challenge in the South West of England. From next season the battle for the number 10 jersey will be fierce with George Ford the number one ten for Bath at the moment. It will give Mike Ford a selection headache for important matchday’s but shows how far Bath have come with their squad continuing to improve each season. If rumours are true it looks like Priestland will not be the only top class player going to the Rec next season with suggestions that Duane Vermeulen and Will Genia could be joining up with a squad that already has a host of international stars. As for Scarlets it remains to be seen whether they will look for a replacement for Priestland or give Steve Shingler an opportunity as a regular starter at 10.
