Former All Black Ben Smith had a Top 14 debut to forget after he was shown a straight red card in Pau's 21-18 defeat to Stade Francais on Saturday.
The utility back that won the World Cup with New Zealand in 2015 started on his Top 14 debut having already featured in the Challenge Cup against the Cardiff Blues.
However, he lasted just 49 minutes on his debut in the Top 14 after he was sent for an early shower after he flattened Stade Francais hooker Lucas da Silva with a stiff arm to the head.

Stade Francais did struggle with their discipline too with two players spending ten minutes in the sin bin but managed to hold out for a 21-18 victory.
