Waratahs hunt victory in Auckland

If Round 1 is anything to go by, this could be another high-scoring game from two sides who last week showed that they are more than capable of getting the rugby ball over the try-line.
The Blues flattened the Rebels 50-3 last weekend while the Waratahs – although unable to attain victory – managed to put 48 points on the Hurricanes.
It was a great start for the Blues who were vastly superior competitors against a Rebels outfit who looked lost on the pitch in the face of their opponents’ prowess.
The Waratahs, who endured a disastrous Super Rugby AU campaign, showed flashes of brilliance which would have warmed the hearts of their supporters as they fronted up to a powerful Hurricanes outfit. The men from Sydney were able to identify and exploit kinks in the Canes’ defence which enabled the former to run up the tally that they did.
While it is difficult to imagine the Blues being toppled at Eden Park after their display last weekend, Super Rugby has always proved to be an unpredictable creature and Leon MacDonald’s charges can surely expect a much greater challenge this round from a team who look as if they may have turned the proverbial corner and are on their way up once more.
