Wales’ run in and what Gatland faces to secure Grand Slam success

Wales claimed an historic 12th consecutive Test victory over England at the Principality Stadium. Second half tries from Cory Hill and Josh Adams helped Warren Gatland’s charges to a memorable win.

With two games left in a bid to claim a Grand Slam, Wales firstly travel to Scotland before hosting Ireland in the final Round of action. In a World Cup year, Wales have continued their incredible form from 2018 that saw them beat the Springboks twice and Wallabies.

The trip to Murrayfield will be a highly combative clash with the Scots hoping to stop a two-match losing streak and put an end to Wales’ Grand Slam chances. The bookmakers have Wales as slim favorites for the March 9 fixture and it’s tough to see the Welsh not securing victory to set up a Grand Slam tilt in Cardiff on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

If Wales manage to succeed in securing a win against Scotland, Ireland will travel to Cardiff in hope of trying to snatch the Grand Slam and championship away, should they pick up bonus-points away to Italy and at home to France in Dublin.

England are certainly not out of contention despite a loss tonight in Cardiff and will look to get back to winning ways and pick up a bonus point at home to Italy before hosting Scotland in a feisty Calcutta Cup encounter.
