Owen Farrell is now in doubt for Saracens' Champions Cup quarter-final against Leinster in two weekends’ time.
The England flyhalf was shown a red card for a high tackle in Saturday’s Premiership defeat to Wasps.
Farrell was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Wasps’ Charlie Atkinson as he hit the Wasps' man high around the head in a dangerous fashion, with referee Christophe Ridley having a very straightforward decision to show him red.
Saracens went on to lose 28-18 with Atkinson being forced off the pitch due to the head injury.
Farrell will face the usual disciplinary hearing and could face a suspension of more than two weeks. Saracens are due to face Leinster at the Aviva Stadium in their Champions Cup quarter-final on Saturday 19 September.
It's a bad one...
Would be very surprised if Farrell is available for Sarries' quarter-final against Leinster. pic.twitter.com/9ol3BFbzJA
