Ugo Monye's latest Lions XV
- 4855
Former England and British & Irish Lions representative Ugo Monye has penned his ideal Lions starting XV as the tour to South Africa approaches.
Monye, a popular pundit in the UK, has evolved his ideal side gradually since last year – his initial pick was brimming with English players, however, now, in light of the recent 2021 Six Nations which saw Eddie Jones’ charges finish second-last, the white jersey is barely represented.
Understandably, the dominant force in Monye’s side is a six-man Welsh contingent.
Monye’s Lions XV:
15. Stuart Hogg (Scotland)
14. Anthony Watson (England)
13. George North (Wales)
12. Robbie Henshaw (Ireland)
11. Louis Rees-Zammit (Wales)
10. Johnny Sexton (Ireland)
9. Conor Murray (Ireland)
1. Wyn Jones (Wales)
2. Ken Owens (Wales)
3. Tadhg Furlong (Ireland)
4. Alun Wyn Jones (Wales)
5. Maro Itoje (England)
6. Tadhg Beirne (Ireland)
7. Hamish Watson (Scotland)
8. Taulupe Faletau (Wales)
