Bristol target Madigan

Ian Madigan is the latest Irish star to ponder whether his future may lie overseas as he weighs up a reported €500,000-per-year deal from cash-rich English side Bristol, with Conor O'Shea's Harlequins also believed to be taking a keen interest.

Madigan has played a bit part role for Leinster since the return of Jonathan Sexton to the province, and was an unused sub in their defeat to Bath this weekend.

Leinster have taken an interest in Connacht centre Robbie Henshaw, who has ruled out a move to France leaving Leinster and Munster chasing his signature. If Henshaw was to sign it could force Madigan on his way out.

The utility back was on €80,000 a year before signing his last deal in 2013, if the reports are true and a move to Bristol does materialise, Madigan could be earning €500,000 from the Championship club.

Cowan Dickie out until 2016

Highly-rated prospect Luke Cowan-Dickie is expected to be on the sidelines until the end of January in a blow for Exeter Chiefs.

Exeter boss Rob Baxter revealed the news of Cowan-Dickie's setback on Monday.

Baxter told the BBC: "He's likely to be out for a couple of months while it heals.

"The way Luke plays, he does chuck himself around, and a few weeks off isn't going to do the rest of his body any harm."
