Mealamu to retire: All Blacks veteran Keven Mealamu has confirmed he will retire after this year's Rugby World Cup in England. Mealamu has been capped 126 times and leaves the game as one of the most respected hookers around. Super Rugby's most-capped player said farewell to the Blues earlier this year and then waved goodbye to Eden Park as an All Blacks player for the final time in the Bledisloe Cup hammering of Australia. Mealamu will be named as one of first-choice hooker Dane Coles' deputies in the All Blacks' World Cup squad on Sunday.
Eddie Jones to leave Japan: Japan head coach Eddie Jones is set to leave his post after the World Cup. The former Australia coach revealed that his contract with the Brave Blossoms will not be renewed when it expires at the end of year, while also admitting he would not take on a permanent role with the country's new Super Rugby franchise. Jones confirmed last week that he was in talks with South African side Stormers but denied reports that he had already signed a two-year coaching deal with the Super Rugby outfit.
