Thomas under knife: Bath Rugby have confirmed that tight head prop Henry Thomas has undergone surgery to repair damage to a troublesome shoulder injury. Thomas, who had featured for England in recent months, suffered the injury a week or so ago, and will now miss a large chunk of his side’s fixtures for the remainder of the season. Having already lost the services of another England international, Davey Wilson, Bath are now short on supplies in the front row, having lost Thomas this week. With Wilson out due to an injured AC joint, the West Country outfit will be without the services of both props for crucial Premiership games, along with the club’s Champions Cup quarter-final clash with Leinster. The club remain hopeful that both players will feature before the season comes to an end.
Domingo in: French head coach Philippe Saint-Andre has today confirmed that prop forward Thomas Domingo has been called into the national squad, in place of Eddy Ben Arous. After suffering a tricep tear, Ben Arous will return to his club, Racing Metro, for treatment, allowing Domingo receive an international call-up for the first time since last June. Having shown a recent run of good form on the domestic stage, there have been multiple calls for Domingo to start next weekend’s clash with England at Twickenham, ahead of fellow Clermont man Vincent Debaty, who many believe is better suited to coming off the bench.
