Toulon prove too strong for brave Wasps

Did we need any more evidence of how the French giants now tower over the best
of the Aviva Premiership? We saw it on Saturday when an outstanding Clermont
Auvergne ripped Northampton Saints to shreds.

The same conclusion was
reached in a very different way here when Toulon barely stirred and yet put
away a spirited Wasps.



As giants go, Toulon would make for one of the all-time great killings, and
fleetingly yesterday, Wasps got wind of the distant scent of what smelled
faintly like an upset.

Toulon were too good, always too good, but they
struggled to snuff…
