Tough start to the season for the Chiefs
- 1214
The Chiefs have had a horrible start to Super Rugby going 0-3 to open their account. The Highlanders pipped the Chiefs in the opening round, followed up by a thrashing by the Brumbies in Canberra and finally, an upset loss to the Sunwolves at home.
The team takes on the Crusaders in Christchurch this weekend which is arguably their hardest challenge of the season so far. The Crusaders have won three from three and look almost as good as the champions team they've had in the past two years. Last year the Crusaders beat the Chiefs both home and away along with their semi-final in 2017 in Christchurch.
Following the Crusaders in Christchurch, the Chiefs take on the Hurricanes at home who are coming off a big win over the Brumbies and look powerful as ever with Beauden Barrett at the pivot. If the Chiefs lose both matches, they will be 0-6 and could be a bridge too far to come back into playoff contention in which is an extremely tough completion when you get behind.
