Top Performers from Leinster vs. Cheetahs
- 1141
Dave Kearney
In a tactical kicking battle for most of the night in a rain soaked RDS - Kearney, playing in the unfamiliar 15 shirt, marshaled the back-field securely all night and made sure the Cheetahs failed to gain any territory from the boot. The Ireland international looked dangerous with ball in hand and gained the most metres with 134 from 15 carries.
Conor O’ Brien
The Leinster centre kicked off the try-scoring for the home side, hitting a searing line to cut through the cheetahs defence and set the tone for the Leinster attack. Aided by a strong left hand fend, Conor beat four defenders, provided an offload and continued his fine form while the internationals are away.
Max Deegan
The Leinster openside was the most impressive player on the field and was deservedly awarded the Man of the Match honors. A willing ball carrier for his side, Deegan showed how dangerous he can be with ball in hand making 10 carries for 36 metres. His work on defense was also excellent with 11 hits and he made a crunching tackle that won a crucial turnover for Leinster, which helped secure their eighth win on the bounce.
