Jack Goodhue
Tipped for a bright future in the All Black jersey, Goodhue showed similar form to last season with a fantastic defensive effort and quality decision making on attack.
The 22-year-old ran brilliant support lines causing headaches for the Chiefs defence, a notable one was the line he ran in the build-up to Sam Whitelock's try.
He also beat 5 defenders (joint highest in the match), made 36 metres from his 5 carries and made 7 tackes.
Sam Whitelock
The Crusaders captain opened up his 2018 Super Rugby try scoring account when he finished off a brilliant team try with a strong carry between two of the Chiefs' front rowers. The 29-year-old was busy on defence making 7 tackles and put the Chiefs lineout under tremendous pressure.
George Bridge
The young Crusaders speedster had a breakthrough year in 2017 scoring 8 tries and got his 2018 season the same way with scoring late in the second half. Bridge made 106 metres - more than any other player. He also beat 3 defenders and made two clean breaks.
Anton Lienert-Brown
The Chiefs centre was in fine form today maintaining a 100% tackle success rate, he also got the Chiefs on the front foot with all 9 of his carries. Lienert-Brown made one error in the match with a poor pass which was intercepted in the latter stages of the match, but the Chiefs no.13 still had a brilliant game.
