Top Performers: Auckland Vs Waikato
- 1913
Auckland claimed their third win of the season against Waikato today and at the same time went top of the Mitre 10 Cup table and equaled their win tally of last year.
Here are our Top Performers from an exciting game between two big rivals:
Jordan Trainor - Auckland
The speed fullback made the most of his opportunities dotting down for two well-taken tries.
He was dangerous on attack throughout the game and his side benefitted from his big boot from inside their 22.
Robbie Abel - Auckland
The Brumbies hooker was solid at the set pieces and put the Waikato scrum under pressure.
He also made good decisions at the back of the rampant Auckland maul to dot down for two quick tries before the break.
Moses Dawai - Waikato
The 20-year-old winger superbly finished off his first try on his Mitre 10 Cup debut in the 14th minute and looked lively throughout.
He has a good step and blistering pace and is definitely one to watch as the season progresses.
Dalton Papali'i - Auckland
Papali'i thrived alongside Blake Gibson and Akira Ioane in the Auckland's back row today.
He was powerful over the ball winning a number of turnovers and weighed-in with a number of tackles.
