Top 3 Performers of the Evening
- 1981
Steve Shingler - Cardiff Blues
Shingler was the standout performer in an overall disappointing Cardiff performance this evening. He scored 11 of his side's 16 points and kept the game alive as a contest until the dying minutes. He also had a flawless defensive performance, recording a tackle success rate of 100%. Heis tremendous efforts were rewarded when he crashed over the line late in the second half. A disappointing day for Cardiff but Shingler can take a huge amount of pride in his impressive performance.
Dan Babos - Dragons
Debutant Dan Babos had a sterling first game for the Dragons this evening showing great composure and leadership to help swing things around for his side to get the win. The Dragons got off to a slow start but Babos marshalled his backline well and pulled the strings comfortably, even getting over the line after 50 minutes to level things up to 15-15. He showed real promise and potential, definitely one to watch for the future.
Ruan Ackermann - Gloucester
Ackermann was awarded man of the match tonight after helping his side to a brilliant win against the European Champions Saracens. He made 15 carries and 55 metres which gave Gloucester go forward ball, especially in the second half. His defensive display was also emphatic with 13 tackles and 2 turnovers won.
