A number of players make the decision to make a move following a Rugby World Cup and according to French newspaper Midi Olympique, the upcoming World Cup will be no different.
Here are some of the potential transfers that could materialise according to the newspaper recently:
Guilhem Guirado to leave Toulon
The French captain and hooker is set to leave Toulon after the World Cup with Montpellier and Stade Francais interested in the inspirational leader.
The report states that Guirado has spoken to officials at Stade Francais while Montpellier has reportedly tabled an offer.
Bears looking for Luatua's replacement
The Bristol Bears are reportedly interested in replacing Steven Luatua - who is interested in rekindling his All Black ambitions.
The Bears could replace Luatua with another All Black with La Rochelle no.8 Victor Vito on top of their wishlist.
This transfer would happen before the World Cup as Luatua makes a push a place on the plane to Japan.
Conor Murray to join Zebo in Paris?
Ireland's first choice halfback's contract expires at the end of the Rugby World Cup and he is reportedly in talks with the IRFU to make him the highest paid Irish player.
However, the Munster man has been pictured at Racing 92's games recently with Midi Olympique reporting that he met with Racing 92 owner Jacky Lorenzetti.
Racing have poured water on a possible move to France but statements like that haven't stopped high profile moves from taking place before.
All Blacks heading to Pau
Earlier reports from France linked Ben Smith and Ardie Savea as potential signings for Pau following the World Cup.
Savea is set to get an extended run in the starting line up for the All Blacks following Sam Cane's injury that is set to sideline him for some time.
The Hurricanes loose forward signed a year extension until the end of the World Cup with NZ Rugby and the Hurricanes but could make the move if he feels he will once again be a 'super sub' after the World Cup.
Springbok to bolster Toulon pack
As reported earlier, Eben Etzebeth has been linked with Toulon following the World Cup with Mourad Boudjellal talking to the second rower.
The Springbok would take up a large portion of the club's budget with the report suggesting that he would cost the club over 1 million Euros a year.
Hogg on his way out
Stuart Hogg's Glasgow contract expires at end of the current season and has reportedly drawn the interest of Exeter Chiefs, Wasps and finally Montpellier.
A move to Montpellier could make Hogg the highest paid European player in the history of the game.
