Todd Blackadder's future at Bath?

Rumours in England suggest that Bath could be the next club to let their coach go so early in the season after Matt O'Connor and Leicester Tigers parted ways after just one round of action. 

Todd Blackadder's came under fire last season when Bath looked set to miss out on a Champions Cup place for the 2018/19 season. Bath haven't started the season well after losing to Premiership newcomers Bristol Bears before scrambling to a draw against Gloucester. 

According to the rumours, Blackadder has three games to turn things around at Bath. The first of those three games with being against Harlequins before Northampton Saints make the trip to the Rec and finally they visit Allianz Park.

Blackadder's coaching record

The former All Black started his coaching career in the Scotland set-up before returning to New Zealand where he was the Tasman head coach. He took over as the Crusaders head coach from Robbie Deans following their successful campaign in 2008.

During his time in charge of the Crusaders, Blackadder failed to win the competition despite having the likes of Richie McCaw and Dan Carter at his disposal. His side was beaten in the semi-finals on four occasions, lost 2 finals and failed to make the final four in his final two years in charge of the side.

Since joining Bath ahead of the 2016/17 season, Blackadder has won 23 of his 46 regular season Premiership matches and has failed to reach the playoffs in both the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons.

Bath did make it to the Challenge Cup semi-final during the 2016/17 season but were knocked out through a late Jule Plisson drop goal.

He failed to get Bath out of the Pool stages of the Champions Cup last season finishing one point behind Toulon.
