Thorn to retire: Former All Black Brad Thorn has announced his retirement from the game. The legendary second row has nearly won every trophy in the game at retires and the age of 40. Thorn's career lasted 21 years, starting off in the NRL with the Brisbane Bronco's before moving to union in 2001 with the Crusaders.Thorn helped Leinster lift the 2012 Heineken Cup, becoming the first man to play in victorious World Cup, Super Rugby and European Cup teams.Thorn said about his retirement that, "My goal was to play top-level rugby at 40 and to play well, and I've done that, I've been part of all these teams and it's been awesome but I just think maybe I should do something else."

Welsh pair to Ulster: Ulster have announced the signing of London Welsh pair, Paul Rowley and Peter Browne. Second row Browne has played at Newcastle Falcons and Harlequins before moving to London Welsh, who he represented 12 times this year. Browne played fro England students early in his career but qualify's for Ireland through his father. Rowley played in Munster's academy for 2 years at u19 and u20 level, before moving to Championship side Plymouth. After 2 years there he moved to Welsh this season and has made 17 appearances.
