Thursday Round-Up
Symons Irish bound: London Irish have pulled of a big coup and have signed Chiefs co-captain Matt Symons on a "long term deal". Symons moved from England to New Zealand to play amateur rugby before establishing himself with Super Rugby side Chiefs. Symons will link up with current assistant boss at Chiefs Tom Coventry when he moves to Irish for the 2015/16 season. "It was a really tough decision to leave one of the best Super Rugby teams in the competition but the opportunities that London Irish offered and the chance to return home were very compelling," Symons said. The second-row joins Scotland international Sean Maitland and current All Black Ben Franks in joining the Reading based side for next season. London Irish definitely a team to watch for the 2015/16 campaign.
Jones to Quins: Harlequins have announced the signing of tight head prop Adam Jones for the 2015/16 season. After one year with the Cardiff Blues, the former Welsh international has decided to finish his career with the Aviva Premiership side. Jones joined Cardiff in 2014 after 10 season with Ospreys but has chosen not to extend his deal. Jones' arrival boots Quins front row and it is expected that Jones' will pair up with England international Joe Marler, which could be a formidable force for next season.
