Armitage appeal: According to reports emanating out of French rugby circles, Toulon fullback Delon Armitage has launched an appeal against his current 12 week suspension. Having earned his sentence for directing abusive language towards members of the Welford Road crowd during Toulon's European Champions Cup loss at Welford Road, Armitage has since been found guilty of misconduct. After being suspended by an independent Disciplinary Committee, Armitage will go before the same group of people as he looks to have his sentence reduced significantly. Armiatge'e hearing date is set for this time one week, on the 8th of January, in front of a combination of judges from Scotland and Wales.
Scarlets blow: Welsh outfit the Scarlets may well be without one of their key players for the coming months, as news filters through of a significant injury to hooker Emyr Phillips. Phillips, who has recently broken his way into the Welsh national training squads, has been in fine form for the West Wales region, but now looks set for potentially 12 weeks on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury. Capped three times by Wales, Philips reportedly requires surgery to mend the dislocated shoulder he suffered against the Ospreys last Friday. Phillips' participation in the impending Six Nations is now in serious doubt, opening the door for a multitude of other Welsh hookers.
