Throwback Thursday as we remember one of the great European Cup Finals
A game of two halves was a phrase made for the 2011 Heineken Cup final between Leinster and Northampton Saints. In what was one of the most entertaining European Cup finals, Northampton Saints had the champagne on ice as they went into the second half leading 22-6. However Leinster who were looking for their second Heineken Cup, produced one of the best 40 minutes of Rugby you will ever see. Their comeback was complete by the 57th minutes as they went in front, thanks to Johnny Sexton scoring all the points. The Saints looked to respond but couldn’t get their hands on the ball as Nathan Hines sealed the win with a try in the corner with Leinster winning the Heineken Cup 33-22 in a game that will live long in the memory.
